That Story Sounded Funnier In My Head: andersonbowtie: it takes so much energy to be mean and negative and...

codarsnacht:

andersonbowtie:

it takes so much energy to be mean and negative and just flat out rude, you could take that energy and be nice

i say this all the time but seriously just stop for a moment before you decide to be negative and think how much better it would feel to be positive

Uh not…

I would argue that it’s much easier to be mean or cynical or cruel than it is to be nice. Being snarky is just an instinctual thing (at least for me), it’s not that it’s truer or more real than being kind, it’s just easy. Being nice takes effort. Being optimistic and caring and and honest and genuinely loving is hard. And so I think we should appreciate all nice people more, because they’re trying legitimately hard to be that way.
Of course when people are sad or depressed allowances should be made. And at those moments nice people are more important than ever.

Wednesday night was my graduation from Coolmine Community School.

Brace yourselves.

But don’t really ‘cause I’m kinda tired right about now, so I won’t say much. The graduation ceremony was fairly standard stuff—held in the gym because we’re classy like that—teachers were sad, students were sad, we were all a bit sad. Amidst the sweltering heat though, it was really quite nice, and the choir was great. It’s strange how even songs you’d normally consider mediocre are elevated when they’re sung by people you know and love.

I had to make a speech. It went tons better than expected and somehow my gamble of improvising a lot of it actually went quite well. People laughed! It did leave me in an awkward position when people kept complimenting me on it because I am incapable of receiving compliments. I sound like the douchiest douche right now. Although to be self-aggrandising again my favourite compliment was on Facebook the next day “it was so sweet and touching :’(“. Sweet and touching beats funny everyday.

Then we partied at da club and got totally locko bbz. This guy kept telling me how he wanted to be me? Seriously though, I want to find him because I could use him to keep my ego inflated (tall, muscular, smiley, black, he picked up like a little baby in his arms and carried me around).

I’m tired now. Sleep awaits.

Can someone explain to me why Ireland isn’t part of the British Isles, because I always think it is but apparently that’s incorrect?

codarsnacht:

I think it is, but some people find it to be a ~controversial term given our history, and prefer people didn’t associate Ireland with Britain.

I guess that’s what that post was getting at. Me? I have no real problem with the term.
